If term limits are good for the President, they're good for Supreme Court justices.

It's an interesting point of discussion. Justices do not serve "terms" like elected politicians, thus "term limits" may not be the appropriate designation. I'm sure there's a lot of meat to the idea that lifetime appointments were supposed to elevate justices above the political fray. Well, politics are certainly in play during the nomination and confirmation process, and it may well be argued that the justices political ideology has an unwelcome influence in their decisions. Thus, I could be persuaded to support some sort of limit on their appointments. Like I said, there's a lot of interesting aspects to this idea...

I have no issues with term limits for members of Congress. I would fully support that. Political ideology shapes their nomination and confirmation, so it's only inevitable that in times of heightened ideology and extreme partisanship that the justices are becoming more and more predictable with their votes (so they're less independent from the political process than ever). Plus, this legislation doesn't end their lifetime appointments; it just limits their time on the Supreme Court. After their term, they would slide down to the circuit courts.

term limit for POTUS, now term limit for SCOTUS, but they wouldn't dare propose term limits for themselves

Would that mean that both Justices Breyer and Thomas would have to retire immediately?
Presto! Two new SCOTUS vacancies.
Color me skeptical of the motives here, but I am willing to listen to a fair debate of the merits of limiting judicial terms.
But this will require a Constitutional Amendment, because Article III clearly states that federal judicial appointments are lifetime appointments.
