@SGT Richard Whitmire, I don't think the Democrats are trying to derail anything. They have a multiprong strategy here. First is to target women. They are using strong language like rape and sexual assault here to assuage women voters whom % wise voted for Trump. The Democrats need to bring that number down. Next, there are very serious allegations against the #2 guy at the DNC. A previous relationship appears to be coming to the spotlight. This is receiving a complete blackout in the MSM. (They may have given it a few minutes of airtime but they are certainly not giving it the same attention as an alleged event 30+ years ago). This strategy is for the black voter. Now add in the Cosby ruling. The Left is using this case as another wedge issue citing white privilege. They are comparing the Judge with Cosby and conflating the two issues to show just how unfair the legal system is to people of color. So the Democrats know the Republicans have the votes for the Judge right now. This is simply hard ball politics to create numerous wedge issues because the midterm is approaching.
Last comment: Condoleezza Rice spoke for the Judge in the hearing. It is interesting to note the MSM has not questioned this and that the Republicans have not used her media clip in any PR ads.
