My last duty station was Schriever AFB. Colorado Springs was pretty appealing so we decided to stick around when we retired. The only complaint we have in the weather...between the extreme fluctuating temperatures during the winter (it literally goes from -10 to +60 during the week) and the constant wind, hail (tennis ball size is not uncommon), thunder/lightning storms, wildfires, flash floods, it really is NOT that bad of a place to live...really. Job-wise, there are contractors-GALORE! With all the bases in the Colorado Springs/Denver vicinity, you have Schriever AFB, Peterson AFB, Ft Carson Army Base, Air Force Academy, Cheyenne Mt Air Force Station, Buckley AFB, and those are just the major bases not counting all the Guard and Reserve support bases, and F.E. Warren AFB just north of the border...I could go on...

MSgt Ken "Airsoldier" Collins-Hardy
TSgt Bruce Davis – Tango Yankee again...that's an awesome testimonial from someone who 'been there, done that', and decided to keep on doin' it in the Rocky Mountain State. Thanks for sharing. Is your post-retirement gig also measuring up to your expectations?
