Well, they still were required to enroll this year or pay the penalty I think. That penalty will be lifted. Let's see how this looks next year. Do you remember how many people they said would sign up for Obamacare? A lot more than 8 million. Did your costs go down $2500 for healthcare? Mine did not, they went up more than $2000. This was a lie, wrapped in an agenda.

Six and a half million citizens will have over $3B in their pockets with the elimination of the individual mandate. The nearly 9 million sign ups were probably those getting big subsidies payed for by the rest of us. All members of the 44% club.

GOP wasn't against people signing up for the program, they were against the program itself. Seems to me it is a lot cheaper to get private companies to cover as much of the gap as possible prior to the Government subsidizing anything. Which is rarely an approach taken by Congress on any issue. It could have been done here with both health and educational benefits. Lots of folks can't get hired simply because they do not hold a Bachelors Degree or College Degree. Seems to me Congress and/or the POTUS could help close that gap in health care and educational coverage by simply doing a little jawboning with Private Industry. Open up more white collar jobs to high school graduates so they have access to company sponsored health care and tuition reimbursement and you have closed part of the gap there without spending any taxpayer money. There are other approaches as well Congress has not tried such as perhaps a Soverign Wealth Fund. With Congress it is always create a huge government program and spend lots of taxpayers money. Very bad way to run a country.
