Sgt Joe LaBranche you betcha, the automotive capital of the world once upon a time. Would be nice to see as they rebuild the city one day at a time.

Detriot needs it. One of the prime examples of what happens when corrupt city government, bad labor unions and greedy corporations do their worst.

You mean Democrats, don't you? The decline of Detroit is directly related to the unbroken string of Democratic administrators (mayor, city council, etc). Coincidence? So who do you suppose gave corrupt bureaucrats, labor unions, and "greedy" corporations free rein (reign)?

1stSgt Eugene Harless - It shouldn't be about politics, should it? Govt should be an after thought focused on the few duties and obligations mentioned in the Constitution. The fortunes of Americans should be in their own hands. If there is a difference between the political parties it is simply this: Republicans have interfered only modestly in the affairs of Americans while Democrats intrude at every opportunity. Neither help. Both cause harm. It's just that Republicans tend to do less harm than Democrats because of the amount of intrusion. For America "to be great again" we need govt off our backs and confined to its limited role.

Certainly hope so. My first assignment after training in early 70s was to Michigan UP. Since not much in UP then we would frequently travel to cities in lower Michigan for shopping, entertainment, etc.. Remember Detroit as a vibrant city that we really enjoyed visiting. Sure it had areas to avoid, but doesn't every city?
