The Uvalde Police Department’s actions were under scrupulous review after several details emerged about the active shooter situation. The police station is not far away from the school, and yet the shooter was permitted to massacre his victims over the course of 58 minutes. He was finally stopped by a Border Patrol agent who ignored orders.

Amazing what the courage of one person can do under great stress. Another example of a brave law enforcement officer putting his life on the line to save others.

SSgt Joseph Baptist I was a police officer and chief. I wasn't there but if was I would have neutralize the threat ASAP. Especially if I was hearing shots being fired. One thing to considere, he was a trained officer responding to an ASS. Most civilians don't have anything close too that level of training.
