Having strategic thinkers in your organization is extremely important. These are the individuals who don't focus on today. Strategic thinkers/leaders look at the larger picture and work toward implementing policies that will be effective years from now. It is the preparation for the unknown shifts that may occur such as a decrease in funding or revenue.
