Facebook's algorithm to determine what was trending news was often overridden by staff members pushing their political agenda. FB is not a news organization but if they had any intellectual integrity, this would not have been an issue. In their defense, I'm not aware that they claimed to possess any intellectual integrity.

Facebook is a private company and as a private company it has its own agenda. I think all media regardless of where they fall on the political spectrum manipulate the "newsfeed" in one way or another.

Facebook is no different, Google either. It is dangerous to assume otherwise.
