No, it's not odd to me. He's making a point. We have some politicians campaigning against the raise. They're saying that the raises in defense spending should have been applied to social and entitlement programs, and that the Defense Department was being given monies that they didn't ask for. Isn't it reasonable for the President to respond with that question?

I'm not asking for your opinion on what he is saying and I don't believe you are currently active duty... Trying to ask active duty their thoughts.

I believe that statement may have been out of context. I did read an article in which POTUS DID say that he thought soldiers deserved a pay raise . ( or words to that effect

Read this article. It does not address pay raises specifically, but the additional benefits equate to more expendable income. This is not the article I referred to . I just got this as soon I closed the notice that you had voted up the reponse

Finally, some support for our troops! Our esteemed President has always been a big supporter of the military. Like many of us, he believes our soldiers deserve better pay and more compensation for their hard work. Which is probably a big part of the reason he announced a new spending bill this week that puts nearly $717 billion back into the military – money that will go to good use helping soldiers achieve a better income or finding housing....

No, I am not active duty. I am a civilian. And ask Mikel Burroughs,; I do not push propaganda, I report on issues that may be of interest. Sources often contradict one another. All I did was show both sides of the story of what was said.
