Did you hear what a little girl gave a Patrolman to help keep him safe? You're gonna smile over this one!
Here's your feel good story for this week-end! Enjoy! :)
A little girl's unexpected gift nearly brought one Mississippi police officer to tears.
She walked up to to Officer Josh McConnell while he was on patrol and handed him the brown teddy bear, saying it was to keep him safe.
From Officer McConnell's FB Page:
"On a call this morning down at Courthouse Pier and this little girl walks up to me. She was about 3/4 holding a teddy bear. I heard her mother tell the little girl to tell me. I turned and asked what I could do for her and she hands me her bear. I tried to give it back but she refused. She looked up at me and said it was to keep me safe. I said thank you while trying to keep my voice from cracking. I put the bear on my passenger seat for her to see. Her mother told me that they have a LEO in the family and she always heard everyone tell him to be safe. What a way to make the day better. I did not get her name but she said they were from Texas."
McConnell tried to give Officer Ted E. Bear back but the little girl refused.
He didn't catch her name so he took to Facebook to share the story and try to reconnect.
McConnell wrote that he could barely keep his voice from cracking after she handed him the bear.
Since then, McConnell has changed his profile picture to Ted E. Bear and been sharing more photos of his "new buddy."
