I have had this during my First deployment... We will see what the long term fall out is.

I had a shipmate though who this almost killed him. The first time he got it he started bleeding out his ears and then blacked out, a week later he (along with everyone else) was sent back to medical for round 2. He pitched a fit and was refusing, medical had no record that he had had a reaction to it. So they threated him with Mast. They ended up giving him the sec injection. This time he bled out his ears and nose, and blacked out again about an hour later. Was taken to medical, took a day to get him back on his feet. Third shot came up he told the Docs if they tried to give it to him her would kill them. Lots of screaming master at arms brought in threats of Mast and jail, Sailor said he didn't care they weren't giving him that crap. Someone finally pulled their head out of their ass and realized he was the same guy who almost died twice already from it and that they should have marked it in his record. Only guy on a ship of 6000 people with this issue and they couldn't remember he was having an allergic reaction and couldn't be bothered to write in his medical record. My understanding is when the fourth round came up and they told him he had to have it he punched someone in the face. First port we pulled into he was sent home.

Kind of solidified my thoughts that medical is generally run by Idiots and should be avoided.

SSG Palmer I have taken Anthrax several times over the years, I am not sure it was the same one. I spent the majority of my time deployed in some bad places so I have taken all kind of stuff. I remember I could not give blood for a long time due to all the shit I was taking. I am still alive, more or less haha.

https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/hcp/vis/vis-statements/anthrax.html.

There is always a certain population that fears vaccines if all kinds. I received it during Desert Storm and latter in 2007-2008 completed the series. As people spread information that is truly not credible or based on research or evidence, it can become "real" in the minds of many. Perhaps there are other reasons for people's symptoms that include lifestyle choices. "Culture bound" syndromes can become real if it is spread through a culture by way of social media and those who benefit from litigation and disability. I'm just saying this is not credible since most have not received anthrax vaccinations yet still report the symptoms of "Gulf War syndrome ". To be a consumer of news one must be critical of every source.

I grew up in a Foreign Service family so my childhood required everything including typhoid which we hated every 6 months. We drank the water and we're plagued with gastrointestinal afflictions if we ate the wrong stuff! In Egypt it was known as "mummy's tummy". I have known every possible exposure and although I have some medical issues, one would have a very hard time locating a source! When I went through basic they line us up and gave me every frickin shot again with the Air gun contaminated with every recruits blood. Good thing they've learned a few things since then!
