If you choose to be unarmed, anyone who possesses a gun holds a power advantage over you. It is understandable that unarmed people would want everyone else be unarmed. It is not easy for people who are unarmed to disarm people who have weapons.
I disagree with this vehemently. I carry a firearm. My wife hates firearms. I do not have power just because I carry a gun. I do not think someone who carries a gun for the power is carrying for the right reasons. I carry a firearm so that I can protect myself and my family if we are in a situation where our lives are threatened.

Interesting article, I agree that most of the anti-gun types are ignorant and relying on the part line they received from elsewhere, whether that is the MSM or other sources.

Don't get hung up on the word "power" -- he wasn't using the term in the sense of "power trip", he was using it more in the context of physical combat. And that's exactly why you carry. You want to be able to address a threat to you and your family with sufficient power to stop or eliminate the threat.

SSgt Christopher Brose - I don't care what kind of power they meant. The power of self defense is powerful. If sheeple take that to mean power over them, they are deluded, but that's what makes them sheep to start off with. They have the same rights as we all do. They just choose to trust in LEO to save them no matter what.

If folks that are unarmed or are anti-gun feel that those of us that carry hold power over them they totally don't get it. I won't say some aren't on a power trip, but the vast majority carry for self protection and protection of loved ones.
My wife has never used a firearm but is glad that I carry for her protection.
