DJI Drones utilize their onboard GPS and software to create what they call GEOFencing (i.e. no fly zones), which are supposed to prevent their being flown into military reservations and airports. They also have a standard 1500 foot altitude restriction from it's point of take off. Some countries (in this case the UK) have lower limits and governments can require forced updates based on perceived threats.

So the maker will be able to ground them all without the update? How is that done? Does that mean that the maker is still connected to your drone after purchase?
