Having grown up as an armor officer and serving as an ordnance officer and multifunctional logistician; I understand fully the importance of logistics to success on the battlefield. Having said that, it's like comparing being on the football team vs. stadium ground crews, equipment managers, etc. All vital to a successful mission or football game, but some roles are just more exciting than others.
Even the roles of a tanker; refueling, rearming, routine maintenance, and recovery operations pale in comparison to the excitement of gunnery and maneuver. But we all know we require beans, bullets and fuel.
And just like members of a football team, some positions are more exciting than others; running back vs. tackle, wide receiver vs. center, etc.

Logistics are without question every bit as vital as a well trained door kicker... But the question of whether it's boring or not, in my opinion, as a former 92A is yes. The monotony of a daily routine of reports, SSA runs, issue parts, order parts, get me this get me that. God I hated that about the job.

It was boring for me as well. I went from motorpool to motorpool doing ULLS-G. Worked in the warehouse for a little spell in Katterbach. They needed 92's for B. Co and I got moved. Got lucky at Fort Carson and did SARSS-2. PCS'd back to a motorpool in Baumholder. Went to selection, Airborne School. Things didn't work out for me there. Back to a motorpool in the 82nd. Had to learn SAMS-E very fast. Then went on to SASMO which I loved. Now I am going to school full time for Information Technology.

Oh yeah. I did luck out on my second deployment with 3rd ACR and was a LNO at Balad.

Logistics goes so much more in depth than just the duties of a 92A in the motor pool, too bad you never had the opportunity to experience the other levels.

Logistics took me to countries and tours I would have never seen otherwise. Remote to highly prized, exciting to mundane, my career as a supply specialist allowed me tours that were awesome. I managed to get in HALO jumps, area 52, riding into protests, war zones and exotic locations.
