Sorry to hear that news.
That was actually contemplated and discussed previously by VA. The number of doors on a hospital make it cost prohibitive. Considered unwelcoming. Creates choke points, and would delay patients (more than parking and valet parking). Requires additional staff of 2.5 for each shift/detector. Result was the Ghostbuater sign you see at the doors and road entrances and alarms.
