SPC Jeff Daley, PhD Is it not amazing that DoD repeatedly fails audits of equipment, ect? Let an individual SM misplace a piece of accountable gear and watch the sky fall on him!

You are so correct! The poor enlisted soldier usually is the fall guy!

Were you still in when they started charging soldiers interest for DFAS mistakes and over payment? When I moved from Hawaii to TX in 2010 and before they adjusted my BAH they overpaid me. If I could not pay it back in less than two payments they were going to charge me interest on their mistake.

SFC David Reid, M.S, PHR, SHRM-CP, DTM One of the reasons was the implementation of the 16th amendment. A direct path to the pocket book of "we the people" without having a balance budget provision.

SPC Jeff Daley, PhD Do you feel that something should be done to prevent this from reoccuring?

SFC David Reid, M.S, PHR, SHRM-CP, DTM - Absolutely, if we could get all voting citizens to actually vet the representatives that we send to D.C. it would be possible to have them work for "we the people".

I guess audits and accountability are low on their list of priorities!
