Do you know how many racy or nude photos there are of me on the internet? Zero. I know, thank God. If you never take them and certainly never post them they will never be out there to be posted or commented on by anyone. There seems to be little in the article about the responsibility of the women taking the scantily clad/nude pics and posting them to the internet or allowing it to happen.

GySgt John Olson - We didn't have the issues with pics on the internet in the early/mid 80's. We had the issues of favoritism, special duty and inappropriate relationships. Same problem, different manifestation.
It is most people's first time away from home when they enlist in the Marine Corps. What happened to any sense of discipline, bearing etc? Some women plied their womanly virtue to their advantage. Most strived to play it down the middle. The ratio of men to women could make any woman the target of a hundred propositions. The attention and new found status of being highly desirable likely was more than many could handle. Some things never change.

GySgt John Olson - Yes, I am aware the internet was not invented in the early 80's. We had to wait for Al Gore to do that a few years later.
We did have polaroid's which, didn't need to be sent to the photo developers so that was the mechanism of choice for some of the chicanery then. There were also the shady picture booths that would develop pics in an hour and didn't ask a lot of questions. I know it happened as pictures made the rounds.
Most people seem to manage a hitch or a career without a bunch of sex related charges. I did, everyone I knew did. I went in with about a dozen friends right out of high school.
I do think there is a hyper sexualized culture these days without a doubt. It is far more prevalent today, too many do seem to have fewer inhibitions or guard rails on their behavior.
If you think there is no quelling this then what is the effort being made for? Do you think the Marine Corps is wasting time in trying to reduce it?
