What are your thoughts? I think we should have had this a while ago, especially after the Ft Hood shooting. It'll probably be near impossible to get a permit though after all the leadership gets there hands on this.

I don't see a major issue with it. I remember being in Iraq where you never went anywhere without your weapon, period. Brings back an occasion where finance personnel cane and set up shop once a month so soldiers could get money and cash checks. Every swingin Richard in the place was carrying multiple weapons from side arms to M-4's to 249's, including the finance personnel. To be honest, we all felt safer there than anywhere else in the world.

The policy doesn't give commanders any athority that they didn't already have.
