The nearest VA clinic to where I live is 30 miles away. The nearest private health clinic to where I live is one mile away. The nearest VA hospital to where I live is 110 miles away. The nearest private hospital to where I live is 30 miles away. In travel savings alone, YES I support privatization.

fair, but let's reverse the variables. An individual closer to the VA clinic than a private one, will it be a sufficient argument as far as the pros and cons for privatization?

I am all about privatization. Make it like Tricare that we have now. That way I can see my doctor or my specialist who knows me all around and knows what's best for me versus a doc I see once a year at VA. I think it would save so much money just cutting out the beaurocracy. Don't let any of the politicians fool you. They just want another health system they can have complete control over and ruin. Another place to hide money with no accountability. If it were privatized, they would have too much oversight and they couldn't pull from the budget.

There is a danger in privatization as well sir. To save costs and increase the bottom line I can't put it past some future would be company cutting corners on things that will benefit veterans.
