I get wanting to have a relatable story to tell at a rally, but, is there a point where we just give up on expecting reality from some people and just accept that some or most of what they say it's hyperbole or just not true?

At what point do we stop caring about integrity and just move on?

Is there any problem with making up stories about horrendous events for person gains?

A big fake show at every rally. I don't even bother being appalled at the latest rally speech because they are so off-the-wall. I am more concerned that seemingly normal adults would applaud it.

Yes, there is a problem with having lack of integrity. It is a character flaw. Hoever, the bigger problem is ignoring and accepting lack of integrity, which is also a character flaw. We either demand integrity, moral and ethical behavior, or we accept that we have none ourselves.
