The weather today features a storm system on either coast. The one near Washington State is beginning to fill (weaken) as stronger je stream winds are occuring on the lee side of the Low Pressure trough. This flattens the trough and slowly works its way NE and down the backside of the high. For NC, it could be dry in Central NC, while Boone and other mountais areas get rain. The hitch is, the path of the Low as it works along the coastlines of the Carolinas. Depending on its path, Central NC may in fact get some of that.

We are still in the grip of the Miller 'B' Climate type. These types of climate regimes see a lot of Cyclogenesis (Low Formation) and sucks moisture from the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Seaboard. Will narrow done the particulars as the the Low makes it presence felt.
