Dover AFB means a lot of things to a lot of people. For me, it has one special mission that transcends all others. What do you know about it?

Having once been a homicide detective for several years, I was deeply involved in the issue of death. As a past commander for an American Legion and a VFW post, I participated in dozens of military funerals. All this has given me great respect for the work of the 1st USA Escort Detachment.

I retired from Dover AFB. When remains would come in they would play taps. I also was the Contracting Officer for the Mortuary. After I retired, I joined the Patriot Guard and escorted many of our fallen to their Hometowns.
