Not the first time it has happen, 1984 was the last known crossing of a communist soldier through Panmunjom. It was Russian pilot then, one people were injured and killed the in the firefight that proceeded the his crossing. Most times, the North Koreans defect across the Yalu through China due to be easier, with less of their own security there.
