Everyone needs passion and hope to reach their goals. Some people are not there yet, but with dedication and mentoring, they can reach that point in their lives.

Not all Ken, some cannot get that monkey off their back, that is the reality, sorry to say! Many, however, do improve up to a certain point, I have been on that ship for a long time. Most of the time it's smooth sailing but other times, some really rough seas!

MAJ Ken Landgren - Nothing to do with passion Ken, it has to do with the human mind. When spending very long periods of time in combat, losing close buddies, seeing the lifeless bodies of innocent children, women, and men. The nightmares never go away, with medications it helps but it's not 100% Anger problems and change of personalities. There are still WW11 veterans sufferings from PTSD, and many Nam Vets are being treated for PTSD. We went there as teenagers, we had no idea what type of shit we were getting into. Wearing rosary beads, a cross around your neck, or any other religious artifact did not protect you from getting killed. When your time was up, your time was up and that is how we lived and fought in the Vietnam war. You have no freaking idea what that war was was like. About 60,000 American soldiers died in that dam war, this is including those still listed as MIA. You have no idea what patrolling in triple canopy jungles is like with a heat index of over 100%, or trying to get a severely sounded soldier/s out of that type of hell hole was like! Some died from heat strokes for God's sake.

Did you know that in the Vietnam war, one out of every 10 US combat soldiers were either killed or wounded in Vietnam!! I have no passion you say, you have not been where I have been as a teenager, in very long and excruciating combat patrols in an environment not even fit for animals. You ask any Vietnam war combat Vet in this group what the Nam war was like as an infantryman. 5,283 combat soldiers lost limbs, 1,081 sustained multiple amputations. Booby traps would to lower extremities were 300% than WW11, 70% higher than Korea. You are telling me I have no passion??? You have no idea how many of my brothers have passed since they left the Vietnam war zone. The VC and NVA were masters in jungle warfare and camouflage. If it was not for our very brave chopper pilots and bombers, we would have lost way much more. Do you even know the meaning of passion??? It means strong and barely controllable emotions!! In the Vietnam war, we had to control all ours emotions if we wanted to survive in each and every battle.

I do sympathize with you. However:
- I never said you did not have passion.
- Passion is not always uncontrallable as you claim it to be.
- You can spew your pontification. You have done so. It is apparent that you are not cognizant we are on the same side.
- Have an excellent night.
