Probably because he actually did it.
I wonder how many politicians would be guilty if we investigated all of them.
I'm thinking 3/4 or so.

Article has details as refresher. He originally was going to plead not guilty, but he has an upcoming hearing to potentially change plea. Along with using his campaign funds for personal wants, he allegedly used them to pay for extramarital affairs with mistresses

MAJ Eugene Chu; SSG Robert Mark Odom: So now what is he going to do what that appeal to the 9th Circuit? The legal beagles were all scratching their heads on that appeal since there hadn't even been a trial. And over $800k in legal fees. Wonder where that money came from.
