Why would cut this capability and force the aircraft to land making it more vulnerable and less effective?

Wonder what idiot made that decision. A moving target is harder to hit than a stationary one. Good way to get a top official or two killed in a wartime scenario.

Hopefully Congress will override that decision. I mean how much are you actually saving anyway? The benefits far outweigh the cost.

That's an incredibly stupid decision by whoever made it. Clearly they don't understand the purpose and importance of Air Force One.
