The World War II battlefields of Europe were but one stop along life's journey for Glenn Dooley, who said he enjoys life now as much as ever.
He's 94 and still playing golf.
"It's a lot of fun," he said.
He and Jo Ann, his wife of five years, are active members of First Baptist Church of Edmond. Faith has always been important to Dooley, who retired after working 50 years for The Baptist Messenger, a statewide publication.
If a front-row seat to the horrors of war affected him negatively, he doesn't show it. He appears to be at peace with the life he's carved out for himself.
Born in 1921, Dooley was like many other patriotic Oklahomans. Living in eastern Oklahoma, he decided to drive to Oklahoma City in 1942 and enlist in the Navy. There was one problem. They didn't think he was old enough to join even though he was 21. Dooley has always looked a bit younger than he is.
