El Paso County Sheriff Wiles: 'Anglo man came here to kill Hispanics'

In an emotional social media post, El Paso County Sheriff Richard Wiles called for the public to stand against racism after an “Anglo man came here to kill Hispanics."
He then addressed politicians who, after mass shootings, offer thoughts and prayers to the victims.
“I fear things will not get better,” Wiles said. “Not pointing out anyone in particular, but I'm sick of people jumping in front of the cameras offering prayers and condolences as things just keep getting worse.”
A plea is then made for a call to action by the El Paso community and the nation to hold politicians accountable.
“It's time to rise up and hold our representatives accountable at all levels,” Wiles said. “I want representatives who will stand up against racism. Who will stand up and support the diversity of our nation and our state. Who will stand up for a strong criminal justice system that holds criminals responsible and keeps violent individuals locked up and off our streets. Who support robust community mental health services. Who support keeping guns out of the hands of people who are just waiting for an opportunity to kill others.”
A “racist” gunman tried to damage El Paso forever, but El Pasoans will remain strong in the face of diversity, Wiles said.

Shouldn't the Sheriff chastise himself directly?
Can he not see that his own statements are racist also?
I wonder how many times he has offered his prayers and condolences to crime victims himself? And, isn't his position a political elected position? Considering his statements here, maybe he should resign from his position and not seek reelection.
