When you asked about prices being similar, were you talking about purchase price or maintenance as well. Because I deal with Class IX (aviation) parts all day and you'd have to be a Rockefeller or along those lines to afford the maintenance.

Then there's also the question of rules and regulations. The FAA would become the DMV. Is it going to cost me the same for a license, registration, and insurance or would those costs inflate as well?

My problem, as a pilot and a driver in one of the largest cities in the US, we can't even get people to drive right now (cell phones, distracted driving, etc) ! Putting those same people that can't drive into aircraft makes the problem much more dangerous...
