He was the head of neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins for decades. Until he retired he was known as the best neurosurgeon in the world and all extremely complicated cases around the world were referred to him. He was raised by a single mother and grew up in the projects. He had every obstacle in front of him yet succeeded beyond 99% of the population.
