I worked in plastics for several years. We did extrusion and heat sealing using PVC. We made suction tubing for medical devices, laparoscopic irrigation valves and hosing, and my favorite-pleurovac bags which saved my life several months ago. It is a wide open field. My sister worked as an injection mold operator for many, many years in Akron making everything from toys to trash cans. Akron University had the #1 polymer school almost forever seeing that nearly all the area jobs were in rubber, latex, and plastic. Fascinating article!
