I read the posted article. It never reads who were some of the leaders of the attack.
For example: https://www.newsweek.com/john-sullivan-capitol-attack-leftwing-antifa-1561898
At first, I thought it was just a bunch of Trump supporters as the MSM lead America to believe. After I dug into the issue, I find individuals like this clown.
To me, all extremists views are dangerous. BLM, Antifa and the KKK are all left leaning extremists and should be denounced.
Because critical race theory is taking over those extremists of color, the KKK will grow. For whatever reason, we are marked for division and civil war.
I agree we should denounce white supremacy. But to do so and not denounce the elephant in the room is wrong too.

The “ racial incident” was a hoax. https://www.cnn.com/2017/11/08/us/air-force-academy-racist-message-trnd I agree with the Generals message. My point is the type of racial animus the General spoke about is very rare and I saw none of it in my career.

The opinions expressed in the article are out of sync with the discovery investigation conducted by the Justice Department prosecutors who have yet to charge anyone with insurrection. The Justice Department found the following:

1. Majority of the crowd were not insurrectionsts and their breach of the Capitol was not preplanned they just followed the mob for the most part. So the whole notion the crowd had a motivation or intent is false. Mostly follow the leader. There was a very tiny element that demonstrated preplanning but in comparison to the crowd it was tiny.

2. The government was not nearly overthrown as the article implies, in fact the POTUS who is the head of government was in the White House when the event took place. No threats were made against the Supreme Court either. We do still have three branches of government in this country no single branch is above the other in importance. They are co-equal.

3 Why does the Air Force have to comment at all on the protest which was purely civilian and had zero to do with the Air Force. Why drag the Air Force or the Air Force Academy into a domestic political issue? The Air Force is not responsible for what happened, Congress is via their negligent oversight of the Capitol Police.

4. None of the deaths on that day were directly due to the protestors the Justice Department found. The only death that was not natural causes or some other unrelated reason was the Veteran that was shot at near point blank range by the Capitol Police. The shooting was ruled "justified" however, the threat the individual represented to the officer was never explained other than breach of a barrier. Do we commonly shoot people for that in this country? Indeed I did not see any non-lethal tools used by the Capitol Police other than tear gas or pepper spray. Something is wrong there since the primary role of the Capitol Police is to protect the Capitol in this scenario specifically.

The article reads as a hysterical narrative written by people with a heavy political bias. I am hoping none of them are still on Active Duty with the attitude expressed in the article. As the Justice Department so eloquently stated. "We need to be careful here with the investigation and the charges so as to NOT trample on the first amendment rights of individuals involved"
