Call EOTech and give them the specs and descriptions on the red dot you just bought and they can tell you right away if it's real or fake.

You are correct. I deal with EOTech frequently in my civilian job, I feel bad for those poor souls that have brought the fakes in to me for trade, or repair thinking that they are real and I have to break the news to them.

Thanks for the info. I know the way we did it is if you put after market gear on your weapons systems, had to get the weapons officer and Armorer to sign off on them. If you read the weapons card and it's all branches there is a statement that says only authorized equipment and changes to weapons systems. Something like that

With the recent problems EOTech had (point of impact shift in cold temps) and more importantly, how poorly EOTech handled it (hid the data from the military) I won't likely be purchasing from them anyway.
