Sgt Wayne Wood: A new CSO and CIO are a start. The CEO should also be on the chopping block as well vs being feted by Congress. What happened here IMHO is base negligence. I hope it is also criminal negligence, and the leadership is prosecuted a la Enron. Sad that we have to look overseas for full coverage of this fiasco.

I was told the hackers got into the IT department using the security holes in the very old version of Java STRUTS the company was using and never upgraded. Most folks are on Java Spring now.

Apparently the former department head was a music major -- whistle a happy tune

They were still using an old version of STRUTS and in my view that is such basic technology that the CEO if he or she was doing their job should have known there was a significant security issue with using that out of date software. Additionally, they starved their technology department of budget to fix an issue like that. Who makes financial decisions?.........back to the CEO again. CEO should step down. So far the worthless CEO is attempting to cling to the job and blame others.
