My knee jerk reaction to this story was a simple "WTF!" Then I calmed down and thought about it. It's a vastly different world than when I served (Vietnam War). My only contact with the outside world was thanks to S&S, radio and television as well as newspaper. Oh, and an occasional news clipping sent from home informing me that we had all died in our misbegotten imperialist warmongering (or so the main stream media was telling family and friends back home). But that was then and this is now. Is S&S newspaper still relevant? Or has it gone the way of the dodo bird (as with almost all civilian newspapers, only a few of which are still hanging on spreading false news)? I'll need some comment from those currently on active duty to help me make up my mind...
