In a time when we should expect more extremist individuals committed to harming Americans, S.446 would put more good guys with guns everywhere. America becomes a harder target.

We should be a harder target along the lines of no one hoots up a cop bar and walks out alive.

I guess Everytown is partnof the tape culture. They don't want small females to be able to fend off a would be rapist.

SP5 Christine Conley - Are you insinuating that the left is not opposed to national concealed carry reciprocity?

SP5 Christine Conley - Yeah, I can. I bet I could count the people on the left who are not opposed to national reciprocal concealed carry on the fingers of one foot.

There are a few things that make me vote republican lately. Firearms rights is the main one.

I am sure these idiots would love to disarm police as well... I mean after all, English Bobbies don't carry guns.

Sir you are so wrong. As late as 1975 Bobbies in many towns and cities were issued hand guns. Not to all mind you. It was wierd too. No holsters. Now British police throughout England have a carry fire arms. Gangs and nuts in that country too made society change. I loved it when England just used short knives, and clubs. Men fought like girls back when I was stationed there, and women fought like professional fighters. Policemen then were well respected and protected by their citizens. That's all gone now.

TSgt James Carson - The sarcasm font doesn't always work on RP.
I know that many of the Bobbies now carry.

TSgt James Carson - One of my saddest moments was a visit to England in 1997. We passed one of the entrances to Hyde Park, and I saw a Bobby with a pistol on his hip. I thought what a shame it was, when a generation or two earlier, such a sight would be unthinkable.
There was a "gentlemen's agreement" between the underworld and law enforcement; the crooks would use no guns, so the police did not need guns either. If any crook broke the rule, the rest of the underworld would help the police find that breaker of the truce, to keep the peace.
