Alfred Thomas Farrar, a former Tuskegee Airman, died on Thursday in Virginia only days before a ceremony planned to honor his service in the program that famously trained Black military pilots during World War II. He was 99.
Farrar's son, Roy, told The Associated Press on Sunday that his father died at his Lynchburg home. Alfred Farrar would have turned 100 years old on Dec. 26.

Quite sure his service goes unforgotten , The Tuskegee Airmen an all black group of Fighter Pilots, known as the Red-Tails for the P-51 Mustangs they flew during WW2 recognizing them became popular because of the tails of their Mustangs painted Red for quick Identification , mostly flying along side of the B-17 Bombers to ensure them reaching their targets, often asked for by Bomber Pilots to fly along side of them for their proven success of not leaving but fighting off the enemy to ensure a successful mission.
