What are the alternatives? the current status is not sustainable...

Something MUST change.

Not exactly sure what must change. Mexican workers (both legal and illegal) have kept US agriculture, food processing and construction humming for decades. In turn the money that they make flows south to keep families from becoming statistics. The military, and retirement, brought me to many places where these Mexican workers are employed and frankly many do jobs that Americans consider below them. Fully agree that illegal workers should not be eligible for social benefits, but that's an issue of administration of the programs, not immigration.
