So, he is skipping a meeting with NATO Foreign Ministers, but will meet with 26 out of 27 of them on Wed. Seems to me he is moving the meeting up so he can meet with China and Russia. There are key words in the article, like "feeding the perception". I don't perceive anything when I read stuff. I want to know the hard truth no matter what it is. Seems its more of an opinion piece with some facts about the meetings thrown in.

...or, you know, he can skip the first day of a 7-day event IN ORDER TO MEET THE CHINESE PRESIDENT. Cause, yanno, China has some small import on the world stage, you might have heard.

You might have a point. They did just recently grant a lot of the President's trademarks and copyrights in China. So, this could be more like a business deal then. That makes sense.
