FDR bars racial discrimination in war industries
Executive Order 8802 was signed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on June 25, 1941, to prohibit ethnic or racial discrimination in the nation's defense industry. It also set up the Fair Employment Practice Committee. It was the first federal action, though not a law, to promote equal opportunity and prohibit employment discrimination in the United States.

What a hypocrite! That's the same FDR that forced a whole race of people into internment camps because of their ethnic heritage. They need to get that racist POS off of our dimes -- I'm offended and refuse to carry that jerk's likeness and immediately throw away, or give away, any dimes I get.

I think what's worse is that he only did it to the West Coast Japanese Americans. In HI, they were too important to business, and the same was true for those few located in the Midwest and on the East Coast. Those on the West Coast were sacrificed to appease fear.

PFC Nicholas Efstathiou - Absolutely! I was born in California in 1949 and during the first 13 years of my youth I witnessed some patriotic Americans of Japanese descent still trying to recover, after being forced to sell their home, farms and business at distress sale prices.
