Excellent article on Vitamin D. It is also notable that it's known that people with dark skin, such as African Americans as well as Hispanic Americans and Native Americans, are more susceptible to COVID-19 than the "normal" population, and many scientists have theorized that this is due to high levels of melanin in the skin of dark-skinned people, blocking UV rays from the sun and diminishing Vitamin D production in the skin.
I am not a scientist; but I think it's prudent for all people, especially people of color, to make absolutely certain that their intake of vitamin D is substantial enough to at the least prevent deficiency of this necessary vitamin in these dangerous times.
I sincerely hope you all stay well.
Thank you for your service.
