Will hold my judgement Jamie- not because I am towing the company line, but because I have zero experience on this jet. I date back to F4s- they were maintenance pigs, 15, 16, and A-10s could fly missing most of the wing and holes in the fuselage. I think if a bird farts in the air this weapon system will read it and emergency land from what I read about it. Then they charge us millions to repair the fart attack system.

If the point of this "fighter" was to be a tactical AWACS sort of platform, I could get behind it a lot easier. But as a tactical jack-of-all-trades fighter, and especially as a CAS replacement for the A-10, I remain skeptical and cynical.

SSgt Christopher Brose - concur. They try to replace an old air frame that is proven to stay ahead of the technological curve. Sometimes brute force works really well. Hard nosed and not pretty, effective and deadly.
