I believe there's more to this story than is being reported. Dealing with Alzheimer's patients can be challenging. They can become violent and combative. It is critical employees are trained to handle these situations with a focus on safe outcomes and compassion for everyone involved. Not everyone is cut out to do this kind of work and employers should be on the constant lookout for those who are not. I would say the same holds true for police officers. Most cops do an excellent job but unfortunately, the ones who don't aren't identified until we hear about them on the news. It's extremely sad that this vet and many others are placed in this predicament. If employers continue to ignore questionable employees, this trend will continue.

Reading this I think most of use with a brain can see what happened,

Wright and her two coworkers on the Weekend shift just didn't care and abused their authority and power of someone that was mentally helpless. I agree with Wrights punishment, but the two witness / coworkers need to also be charged.

Also who ever left him in his bed for 2 days and didn't bother to check on his medical condition should be charged with negligence. I am sure Wright and her coworkers just ignored it and played it off, I'm sure conversations about just leave it till Monday happened. Because I know the real world and the apathy of humans. Its sad that A Veterans life ended this way.
