Trump and his cronies attempted to pressure the FBI to make public statements about the pending Russia investigation. The administration's efforts to press the FBI Director violates two separate Justice Department procedure memos issued in 2007 and 2009 that limit direct communications on pending investigations between the White House and the FBI.

"Pending investigations". Why would the FBI refute information that hasn't been disproven? They essentially asked the FBI to lie, but this act just makes the investigation more pressing.

They are making a big deal about this on MSDNC, saying they are improperly attempting to influence an investigation. However, if it was me and I was being investigated and I knew the allegations were complete BS and for the most part fabricated. I think I would want to try to keep taxpayer spending at a minimum in this area.
