This is what happens when journalists sell a narrative rather than report the news. They're disappointed, gob-smacked to learn that not everyone is buying their product. Here, a CNN reporter is confronted by "deplorables" who refuse to be swayed by the political witch hunt being perpetrated against the President and his Administration. He's also bewildered by the fact that they don't want it to stop. That they want the whole seedy business to play itself out.
