There is no legal requirement for the President to consult anyone in making nominations. There is only "Advise and Consent". Inasmuch as the Senators from California are openly hostile to any court pick and would only back jurists who are not ideologically aligned with the President, it would be a waste of time to consult them. So, there is no reason for them to be mad at the President. They created the hostile environment, now they should deal with it. BTW, the 9th has been an abomination when it comes to decisions based on the Constitution, it is time that better judges be appointed and neither CA Senator is prepared to help in that process.

It's funny, I never heard a peep out of these two when Obama was nominating federal judges.

Really could care less what these two think of anything and it is quite clear they prioritize what is good for them over what is good for the country. Waiting for the day when California voters finally wake up and conduct a long overdue house cleaning.

Don't hold your breath. The Democrats dominate the major metropolitan areas - San Francisco, LA, and San Diego - and the rest of the state can go pack sand. They have the dead, illegals, and the terminally stupid marching to the polls in lockstep

CPT Jack Durish - Yeah that's because Republican candidates have been weak or have given up on the state altogether as a lost cause. I think if they presented a good candidate Republicans could sweep California just based on promises made and never kept. Republican Party refuses to target the state though because they think it would be wasted money vs applying money to states they already have. Not sure I agree with that strategy by the RNC. These two bozos should be made to fight in every election as their track records are so bad.

SPC Erich Guenther - I've attended a couple GOP committee meetings in Orange County (a GOP enclave) and they just don't have the fight in them. The metaphor of "coming to a gun fight with a knife" fairly leaps to mind.

CPT Jack Durish - That is sad to hear but I came to the conclusion based on some of the dumb political statements made by Brown and his cronies. The GOP could have cleaned house while Brown was Governor, they just did not try. Oh well, at some point it will happen, just have to be patient.
