The Pedophile Priests have ruined lives of victims. They should be imprisoned and registered as sex offenders when they are released. The Church was wrong to use threat of Excommunication as a way to keep victims quiet. Religion should still be practiced and I support the Catholic Church. I am a 3rd Degree Knights Of Columbus Catholic.

Capt Gregory Prickett - Should a priest also be required to report to authorities theft, rape, or murder admitted to in confession?

Yes, we need freedom from religion in our laws. Otherwise we turn in to Iran. Maybe somebody should inform those evangelicals that while our constitution allows religious freedom, that means religion operates on the allowance of our government. Meanwhile, evangelical fools who pray to trumpski forget that he has broken every commandment .

According to the Constitution's First Amendment, the practice of religion DOES NOT rely on government allowance, direction, or charity. As the Framers affirmed, freedom of religion is a God given Natural right preexisting and superseding the government. HOWEVER, that DOES NOT give either the church or believers freedom from secular laws that do not contradict the Bible. That INCLUDES execution for rape, be it of a woman, man, or child.
As for those of us Evangelicals who "foolishly" voted for Trump twice, and will a third time if he runs again, it IS NOT because he's a DEMIGOD or a SAINT that we pray to despite progressive accusations. While he's not the ideal conservative constitutionalist, at least he's not a progressive, socialist, communist, someone committed to Islam, "traitor", or murderer.
By the way, how has Trump violated Exodus 20:3, 4, 12, or especially 13? With regards to the latter, Mr. Obama and the Clintons that can be reasonably claimed to have done so, not to mention their violations of other Commandments as well. Then there's supporting a president suffering from dementia. So, are you one who says if a conservative falls into the foregoing criteria it's disqualification for office, but if a democrat does, that's permissible? I'd hope not.
