It remains amazing to me that anyone in gvt, law enforcement, or intelligence of a 'professional' nature could put any stock or credibility in anything produced by a civilian(ex-spook included) bought and paid for by the political enemies of the subject with the only intent of harming or causing damage to the subject, no matter who she or he is/was. The only defense left to DT is to totally discredit his attackers, which he has done so well. This is an internecine political war in which there will be few winners on either side.

They want it to be accurate, the need it to be accurate because many of them staked their career on the memo and used it like a real intelligence document. If they admit openly to the funding for it (DNC and Hillary) and the author of it (Steel, not real US intel people) and the purpose of it (opposition research and destruction) then they admit the are merely step and fetch government employees for the previous administration and likely violated a few FISA court laws and Constitutional rights of Americans. You remember the Constitution, that document they swore to defend.
