First African American woman set to graduate from U.S. Army Ranger School

[Imagine the roles changed, if she were the first female who graduated Ranger school, great achievement for sure. Then several years later a white female graduates... would it be appropriate to write an article outlining the first white female to graduate? I think not. I cannot find evidence of systematic racism in the military for the time I have been in. Isolated incidents for sure, but not as an enterprise. That is where I fail to find the emphasis of the point of the article in outlining the achievement directly coorilated to race, where overcoming systematic racial obstacles has not been observed for decades. I guess my point is “so what”, Ranger school is not that difficult and for a SFC to pass a course that evaluates leadership in team, squad, and platoon level, I find trouble finding the big deal. CPT David Bernheim

Not one piece of this article even applies to minority female advantages or disadvantages in the military. You cannot just google research and make it apply. I am still in the service and can see forst hand the AARs from the field which have demographics broken down for promotions and I can attest there is NO systematic racism that exist in our day and age. My lens is from a current Active component Senior Enlisted spectacle... When is the last time you wore a uniform and witnessed any of this first hand?
