Really? We made contact there in the early 1800's and the first thing they asked for were uniforms and weapons.. Your example is flawed. Obama holds the record.

Sorry, I respectfully disagree. You need to review history. First of all, there hasn't been an officially declared war since WW2. If you don't want go as far back as 1945, I suggest you look at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. You only have to look at the "first" American deaths of the Vietnam war.
President Eisenhower established the Military Assistance Advisory Group (MAAG), precursor to the Military Assistance Command Vietnam (MACV), on 1 November 1955. The first known casualty on the wall is dated June 8, 1956. The last combat deaths occurred on May 15, 1975.
I count 5 presidents during this time frame over a span of 20 years.
These are all facts. You can disagree with the families of the men and women on the wall.
